About Sammy
I’m the sum of all my ancestors, as are you. Raised in a loving and tight family network of Samoan and NZ Pākeha heritage. Our values are centred around nurture, respect, generosity, service, playfulness and hard work.
I guess being being exposed to lots of different people, religions and cultures makes it easy for me to find connection with people. Connection for me is the underlying value none of us can do without.
I love massage it’s one of my favourite things in life, it’s amazing on so many levels. It helps you connect with yourself, your body, your mind, your muscles, your cells and the space that binds all things together. I like to think I’m working on that space, that energy, that wairua. Sometimes the client can receive it at that level and that is the ultimate goal, anything beneath that is also tremendously beneficial. The massage therapists code is that we “do no harm”, we’re here to serve, to nurture and tune into the body so what you receive should be at least relaxation, relieved muscles, stimulated parasympathetic nervous system, general awareness of where tension is in the body, increase in dopamine levels and just that warm nourishing feeling of being nurtured.
